Market

Thank you for a great market! Everyone loved our booth's painted curtains and so many people asked if we sell them, which was unexpected (we do sell our painted veils that are quite similar). On the subject of veiling, there was such a strong reaction to our new veiling collection this season. Our best selling earrings were "Shining Hour," which is pictured below.

An interview about the upcoming Market

As Debra prepares for this upcoming market, she reflects on her career as a jewelry designer. She still does a few of the company's trunk shows and admits that it helps her create each season because she's out there, listening to what's needed, working with dress designers, and catering to the needs of her individual retailers.

Nearly 25 years in business, Debra has honed her design ethic to five categories: enamel, crystal, pearl, leather, and fabric. "My own personal style influences a lot of what I do, but it's never crazy or random--many ideas come from working with actual brides."

Debra enjoys the smaller market in the Spring because, "there's so much inspiration at this time, especially at my home. My viburnum bush is blooming and the fruit trees on my estate are covered with little white flowers that look like enamel (wink)."

Her estate is appropriately named "Valley View" because it has beautiful foliage surrounding the house with a large swooping valley behind it. "When the bluebells come up and cover the hillside it is a site to behold. I think many people are invigorated by spring."

Other inspiration of note, Debra concedes, is from Merchant-Ivory productions and British period drama. Her entire fall 2008 collection based on Sweeney Todd!

Let me say, look for "Cuckoo's Call" at market--it's to die for!

Stunning combinations

This past weekend at a trunk show, Debra was able to have a few shots snapped of some excellent combinations for hair up, down or (the ever popular) half-up-half-down! The shot above shows a bride donning our jeweled, leather "Peacock Alley" combs.

This bride chose the "Fountainhead" hairpins and truly beautiful "Glad Tidings" necklace.
Above, once again from our leather collection, the "Peacock Alley" hairpins, with one "Peacock Alley" comb. I'm not sure if a better match for her dress exists!

Introducing...

Our new veil color--blush! So many of the popular dresses today are this blush color. We have had so many requests about this color, so--here it is!
As you can see, it would beautifully compliment this Lazaro gown (top) or Monique Lhullier's "Candy."

Tonight Belt

Debra is all about the versatility of her pieces and a belt is a terrific and easy way to accessorize a dress. Our amazing Tonight belt is the perfect width for any dress, and easy to work with because it's fitted. This couture piece adds texture and shine that can be worn either alone or, as shown in the photographs, with a variety of brooches. Enamel, pearl, or chunky sparkle adds the perfect accent to her big day!
